Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 19, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TierSphere collects, uses, shares, and protects information when people use our platform, websites, applications, and related services. If you are using TierSphere through a school, district, nonprofit, or other customer organization, that organization may also control or instruct how certain data is handled in connection with the services it has purchased from us.

School districts and education partners should also review our Student Data Privacy page for Section 2-d, FERPA, parents' rights, vendor safeguards, and complaint information.

Information We Collect

We collect information that users, organizations, and administrators provide directly to us, such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, passwords, profile details, organization information, parent or guardian contact information, program participation data, attendance records, uploaded files, messages, and support requests.

We also collect information generated through use of the platform, including organization membership, program and opportunity enrollment, communication preferences, dashboard activity, purchase or donation records, and other operational records needed to provide the service.

When people use our public websites and designated public application pages, we may receive technical information such as IP address, device and browser details, approximate location inferred from network information, cookies, and event data used for security, analytics, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring. Analytics tooling is intended for public, unauthenticated pages rather than signed-in product pages.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate, secure, and improve TierSphere, including to:

  • create and manage accounts, organizations, programs, and participation records;
  • deliver dashboards, reporting, messaging, notifications, and support workflows;
  • process billing, donations, subscriptions, and customer service requests;
  • monitor service health, investigate misuse, and protect the platform and its users; and
  • comply with contracts, legal obligations, and lawful requests.

How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to deliver the service, support our customers, meet legal obligations, or protect rights and safety. Depending on the workflow, information may be shared with:

  • the school, district, organization, or authorized administrators responsible for the account;
  • service providers that host, secure, support, or enable the platform;
  • payment, identity, communication, or document-signing partners when those features are used;
  • law enforcement, regulators, or other parties when required by law or valid legal process; and
  • other parties when a user or customer expressly directs or authorizes us to do so.

Student, Teacher, and School Data

When TierSphere processes student data or teacher or principal data for a school district or education customer, we act as a service provider under the applicable customer agreement and data privacy addendum.

We do not sell student, teacher, or principal personally identifiable information, and we do not use that data for advertising or unrelated marketing purposes. We use that data only to provide, secure, support, and improve the contracted services as permitted by law and contract.

Additional district-facing privacy commitments, parents' rights, subprocessors, and complaint channels are described on our Student Data Privacy page.

Retention and Deletion

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, satisfy legal and contractual obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security records, and support legitimate business operations.

For customer-managed education data, return and deletion obligations are governed by the customer agreement and any district-specific privacy terms. When a contract ends, we coordinate return, deletion, or both in accordance with those obligations and our documented data return and destruction procedures.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and operational safeguards designed to protect data, including role- based access controls, password hashing, transport encryption for production traffic, secure session handling, protected object storage, rate limiting, monitoring, and auditing for key platform events.

No system is completely risk free, but we work to detect, contain, investigate, and remediate security issues promptly and in accordance with our contractual and legal obligations.

Choices and Controls

Users can update profile information through their accounts and manage many email communication settings through our notification preference and unsubscribe tools. Browser-based cookie controls are described in our Cookies Policy.

If you are using TierSphere through a school, district, or organization, some privacy rights requests may need to be directed to that organization because it controls the underlying customer relationship and related records.
